Name: Mecha
Owner/Creator: Titanium , although some information belongs to the creators of Gundam/Tekken
Sentient? Yes
Alliance: Depends on individual. They range from good to evil, though can also be neutral (it’s rare though).
Origin: The ultimate weapon has been in design for years, from the first beast able to handle its own against another. Fighting has advanced, and so have the weaponry and technology. Removing emotion and other conflicting forces from the equation, better results were capable. In doing so, scientists went from experimenting with humans to starting from scratch and creating their own fully functional weapon, without need of someone at the controls, but still able to take orders. They gave the world robots.
Description: Mechas are androids—completely robotic with only a human façade. They have two forms, the first being their regular form in which they appear humanoid but have mechanical body parts that can come out of their skin. These body parts include mechanical “wings” which serve as flight units, but also jets which come out of their arms and legs. They can also attach equipment to their limbs and backs, such as weapons. These weapons can be conventional or not, like chainsaws, guns, knives, cannons, and more. Some of them transfer over from their second form.
Their second form is essentially a Mobile Suit. They increase in size, although it varies upon individual, from 50 to 60 feet, give or take. The skin covering is taken off and they transform into this giant robot, capable of flight and fight. They are able to equip and use more weapons in this form, which is actually their natural design. Some weapons and equipment are not available to them in this form, and vice versa.
System of Rank: They are programmed to serve, so see their “Commander” as leader. Some Mechas rank higher than others, although it depends on which side they take. They tend to hold a military-style ranking, with the human big-wigs pulling the strings at the top, Generals and Commanders in the field, and below the Lieutenants and common soldiers (also referred to as Pilots). Within the Pilots there is also a hierarchy, there can be Aces and Super Aces, elite soldiers who earned a distinguished combat record and are usually promoted to Commander positions, as seen by their uniforms.
Personality: Depends on the individual. Since they are not human, they don’t feel human emotions, although they are adaptable. They are capable of a range of concepts, both human and otherwise, based on observation; although primarily take orders from their commanders. They can understand personalities and feelings, and then copy or develop their own, but this takes time.
Capabilities and Weapons: Their abilities rely on their design and weapon arsenal. All Mechas have these weapons in their MS Form:
Other equipment and enhancements can be added on to make the mobile suit unique.
Note:
Your character can only have ONE OTHER gun/cannon along with the Igelstellung and machine gun/beam rifle, (such as a railgun, hyper impulse cannon, linear gun, gun-launcher, or another machine gun/beam rifle)
OR only ONE other knife/blade, (such as a beam saber, katana, scimitar, scythe, or trident)
OR you may only have ONE special, unless you replace it with a gun or blade (example: instead of having two beam cannons, you can have a flamethrower and claw; instead of adding another blade, you can have a missile launcher and grenade launcher).
You may also have only ONE enhancement, such as mirage colloid or positron reflector (you cannot have both, that’s just overkill). You don’t need to have an enhancement or extra guns/cannons, knives/blades, or specials, although it is recommended.
For the Silhouette System/Weasel Assault Unit, you can exchange that for your extra guns/knives. So, you’ll have the three regular weapons and can also have a Silhouette System including extra guns, blades, or specials OR install the Weasel Assault Unit. These systems are not always on your Mecha in MS form—they need to be flown in, so you’ll need a carrier to keep the systems in if you choose to have one or more. You may have up to TWO systems, i.e. Blade System consisting of beam saber, katana/scimitar, etc., as well as a Gun System, containing extra guns similar to the Weasel Assault Unit (just not as many or as much firepower). You cannot have a Silhouette System AND the Weasel Assault Unit (again, that’s overkill).
*The GAT-X105 Strike has the Igelstellung, Armor Schneider, and beam rifle equipped at all times. The Aile Strike Pack (Silhouette) comes with two beam sabers. The Launcher Strike Pack comes with a weapons pod (Vulcan cannon and gun launcher x 2) and a hyper impulse cannon. The Sword Strike Pack comes with a beam boomerang, rocket launcher, and blade.
*ABC-X102 Legion (example) has the Igelstellung x 2, beam saber x 2, and beam rifle (standard), as well as hyper impulse cannon (extra gun/cannon) and the positron reflector (enhancement).
*The ABC-X Darkside has the beam saber x 2 (standard), flamethrower and extendable claw (specials), as well as mirage colloid (enhancement).
*The DEFG-X Destroyer has the Igelstellung x 2, Armor Schneider x 2, and beam rifle (standard), and the Destruction Silhouette System which includes a missile launcher, grenade launcher, and hyper impulse cannon (enhancement).
Weapons List:
Guns and Cannons:
There are also plasma cannons and rifles, as well as various types of machine guns.
Knives and Blades:
There are also scythes, tridents, and other blades not made of energy (such as katanas and scimitars).
Special:
These are customizable and unique, so the options are practically limitless.
Enhancements:
Since they are robots, they are also able to exchange and interchange their parts like machines: if an arm is damaged, they can remove, improve, or put on a new one. Even their heads can be switched out. This is possible in both forms.
The weapons in their regular form are different than in MS Form. While some are interchangeable, such as the guns/cannons, the enhancements are unavailable. This is where the specials come in, such as chainsaws, flamethrowers, claws, missile and grenade launchers. Missiles, grenades, rockets, and the gun-launcher come out of the Mecha’s back, while machine guns, beam cannons, blades, chainsaws, flamethrowers and claws come out of the arms. Like a Swiss Army Knife, Mechas can equip multiple weapons on themselves. They also have standard jets in their legs (back ankles and thighs) to stabilize them during flight, as well as the capability of reaching supersonic speed with hyper jets coming from the bottom of their feet.
Special Weapons (Arms):
Limits for Mecha Form:
These weapons also count towards MS Form (so if you don’t have a missile launcher in MS Form, you won’t have it in Regular Form) although the specials are more diverse and some do not transfer, such as the chainsaw.
General Information: They are classified as weapons but able to make decisions, thus they are sentient yet controllable. Some view them as just machines, others view them as living beings deserving of essential rights and responsibilities.
Mortality: In order to kill one of these it needs to be completely destroyed or short-circuited. If only a few parts are left it cannot revive, but can be added on to another or used in exchange for damaged parts. They also use energy, but depleting their energy does not kill them, it simply requires them to charge up, like resting does for humans. If enough parts are left behind they can be rebuilt, although it is not known whether they retain memories or personality traits. They are usually upgraded if destroyed, to improve what caused their downfall, or in hopes of escaping another similar fate. So technically, they’re immortal. One can keep a Mecha in a hyper sleep within the basement for eons, assuming rust control is in place. The natural elements and time are really the only things that, aside from other mobile suits, do them harm.
Naming: Their names aren’t like most other races. Because they are classified as weapons, they are also named as weapons. For example: ABC-X102 Legion. Different factions have their own naming system which is the same for each of their MS/MA. Each Mecha will have a model number and name according to the faction which it was created by—this doesn’t mean it has to stay with that faction, but if it defects the Mecha will still keep the name.
The model numbers for the Atlantic Alliance are: AAMS-100 series (Atlantic Alliance Mobile Suit) as the regular foot-soldiers. Specialty MS (those equipped with enhancements, upgrades, or a silhouette system) start from 200, and those with Jet Mode, the DRAGOON system, or Weasel Assault Unit start at 300. There are also the UMS-1A and AMS- 1A series, for Underwater Mobile Suits and Aerial Mobile Suits of the Atlantic Alliance. They also have the SMS-1A (Sniper Mobile Suit), IMS-1A (Investigation Mobile Suit), and SFMS-1A (Special Forces Mobile Suit) series.
The Eurasian Alliance designates their MS/MA as EST-W100 series (Eurasian Superior Tech-Weapon) which includes their regular ground mobile suits. Specialty mobile suits, including air and water, are given numbers starting at 200, while upgraded, new and improved versions of older mobile suits start at 300. They also have a line of stealth MS called CO-1E (Covert Operations of the Eurasian Alliance). They started creating Mechas after they saw members of the Atlantic Alliance making them, so do not have as many designations or types available.
Rebels or neutral countries have their own naming system, usually in accordance to their group name or codename. Rebel machines are usually stolen, or defected from another faction, because they usually do not have the means to make their own Mechas.
Taken from Gundam Seed/Destiny:
GAT-X series: A line of prototype mobile suits developed by the Atlantic Federation, which bear the designation Gressorial (a technical term meaning “adapted for walking”) Armament Tactical-eXperimental. The designations of the GAT-X machines indicate whether their structural frames are part of the basic X100 series, the specialized X200 series, or the transformable X300 series.
ZGMF: Stands for Zero Gravity Maneuver Fighter
WASP: Water Adapted Search and Patrol
OCHER: Operation Commando Hard Environment Reinforced
AMF: Aerial Mobil Fighter
UMF: Underwater Mobile Fighter
MBF: Main Battle Figure
Other designations include S: Support, SO: Special Operations, LLR: Long Range Reconnaissance.
Permissions: To make an original Mecha you must apply with a character sheet containing at least the weapons list for both forms, as well as include the model number in accordance to which faction he/she belongs with (your Mecha can be a rebel or neutral, in which case I expect to see an original model number and name). Failure to do so will result in archival of your character sheet.[/spoiler]
