General Rules of the Forum:
-Be courteous to fellow members. This means respecting each other’s opinions and beliefs. Do not insult or disrespect someone’s race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, age, etc. This will result in a warning, and if kept up, banishment.
-Do not spam or join solely to advertise another website or a giant fighting robot will sit on you.
-Keep the mature content on a decent level and be aware of a young audience. In essence, keep the cussing and sexual innuendo to a minimum. Pornographic or inappropriate material will be taken down, and the member posting such material will be warned.
-Do not troll or flame other members. Trolls are meant to live under bridges and have no place in a world of giant fighting robots.
-If you are being harassed, or you know of (and have evidence) another member is being harassed, please notify a member of staff.
Avatar and Signature Rules:
-Because we have young guests, no pornographic material is allowed in avatar images and signatures. Keep away from vulgar, obscene, or controversial images as well. Other than that, do what you want. If you're unsure if something is inappropriate, a staff member can evaluate the image.
-For signatures, we aren't very strict. If it takes half a page to scroll past your sig, you may want to trim it down. If an image stretches the page, you'll be asked to lower the dimensions to make it fit. As with images, try to keep quotes slightly clean for others. You can include cuss words if it's in the direct quote, but try not to pick the dirtiest, most coarse quote imaginable for your siggy.
Writing Rules:
-Do not copy other members’ work. That’s plagiarism and punishable by death (figuratively speaking).
-Be original. Creativity and imagination are your best weapons.
-Check over your posts for grammar, spelling, and content before posting. Do not use text lingo or shorthand, and use English unless your character speaks another language, in which case please provide translations for other posters. If your native language is not English, that is fine, as long as we can communicate with each other.
-Respect each other’s writing. If you want to give a review or critique, do it professionally in order to help the writer.
-Use proper format when writing, such as separating character dialogue from each other, using double quotation marks (“quote”), and spacing between paragraphs (unless you indent each paragraph). This is to utilize optimum readability. Otherwise it looks like a hot mess.
-Please rate your content, especially if it contains explicit or mature materials (sexual themes, violence and gore, obscenities, large amounts of cussing, adult themes, etc.).
-Stay on topic, and do not post IC content in an OOC board and vice versa.
Role Play:
-No godmodding. There are creative ways to interact with other characters. Use them.
-Canon characters can only be claimed by one person on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once a character is claimed, that user is the only one allowed to play them unless they give up the claim or have the claim removed.
-Keep battles fair—do not kill another person’s character without that person’s permission. Use the Three Dodge System when possible or an honor code in battle. This means you cannot dodge every attack and miraculously manage to incapacitate your opponent. It doesn’t work that way. Try to keep it realistic according to your character settings and power level.
Warnings:
-This forum uses the warning system, which allows users to view their warnings and reasons. If a dispute arises, contact a member of staff (but do not attack a staff member for giving you a warning).
-Warnings will be issued to members who disobey a rule, such as posting inappropriate content or not following writing rules. After a warning has been issued, the member may be limited on posting abilities.
-Multiple warnings will warrant suspension for a set period of time to be determined by a member of staff. For serious offenses, members may be banned after multiple warnings.
-Banned members may only return after they have proven their ability to follow the rules through a trail run, or "second chance" as a member. There are no third chances.
